De bestuursvoorzitter van Activision Publishing, Eric Hirshberg, weerspreekt de geruchten dat het bedrijf in de toekomst geld zal vragen voor de online multiplayer van Call of Duty.
Activion's Bobby Kottick liet zich eerder dit jaar ontvallen dat hij graag een betaalmodel wilde invoeren voor het CoD multiplayer gedeelte. Verschillende analisten haakten hierop in en spraken in hun verwachtingen ook over zo'n betaalde service. Hirshberg ontkracht dit tegenover de website Industry Gamers. Hij ziet de multiplayer als logisch onderdeel van het pakket dat je krijgt als je Call of Duty koopt, iets waar Activision nooit geld voor zal vragen.
